Verve is an editorial design project exploring The Art of Pottery Across Asia, with this issue focusing on the timeless beauty of Japanese pottery. It looks beyond pottery as an object to explore how nature, craftsmanship, imperfection, and time shape its beauty.

The issue brings together four perspectives: Bizen ware, Kintsugi, Wataru Myoshu’s wabi-sabi practice, and contemporary Arita porcelain, exploring how traditional craft continues to evolve through material, place, and human touch.

The visual direction balances quiet editorial restraint with the raw character of ceramics. A monochromatic foundation, earthy tones, generous negative space, and expressive photography create a calm, tactile atmosphere, while contrasting display serif and sans-serif typography gives the publication a contemporary editorial voice.
